You have an interesting way of paying for your meals...
In the Happy Eater, you used to get a lollipop for cleaning your plate.
But why did their logo consist of a bloke trying to tickle his tonsils?

Hello Mike,
I always remember Ann asking me 'can I lick round the bowl?' I said 'No. Course you can't, use a lavatory brush like everybody else does'.
Sorry my thinking half, I was only joking.

Good breakfast according to Rae & Ann. (Rae & Ann, is it much of a walk to Winfields the way you found?)

Hello Phil,
Well we spent a week last year on the hill at Ted's and every morning Ann and myself would trot down for our breakfast and to use the amenities available; in other words...the bog. Good food, clean toilets. It's about a twenty minute walk on very picturesque paths, some can be a little uneven but you're soon on to a very quiet single track road.

Rae & Ann

You walked 20 mins before you used the, erm, bog!!

Good morning Graham,
Technically...yes...but we do have a backup plan in the form of................ a portapotti; an amazing invention, very easy to empty when liquids have been used in it, not so good on thixotropic substances.

Mal,
Can I borrow your portapotti after I've had half a dozen Guinnesses, a curry, a couple of bags of peanuts? No? Now who's a spoilsport?

How to get there

Same as for previous Rossendale meets but they're archived now so here it is again -

Simplest way from south (M62/M60, M66) & north (A59, M65) is to head for the Rising Bridge roundabout on the A56 (Haslingden by-pass) and take the A680 south to Haslingden -

Landmarks at the roundabout are Little Chef & Macdonalds north of the roundabout and the Winfields Camping & Workwear sign on the south side in the photo. Winfields site is to the left of the A680 near the roundabout.

About a mile from Rising Bridge there's a set of traffic lights: turn left onto Clough End Road -

If coming from the south through Haslingden then it's the second set of traffic lights (first being at Deardengate in the town centre): turn right -

From Blackburn (B6236) it's straight across the lights -

(Tip: if your route wanders a bit around Haslingden then follow brown Winfields signs.)

Follow Clough End Road (speed bumps & lumps & potholes...) -

Turn left onto Laund Lane -

Once past the concrete section of the lane alongside Hardings Valley Skips turn right into Brow Edge Farm -

(If the gates are shut then please close them again once you've gone through.)

Make your way up to the hard standing area -

All being well I should be there from about 1pm Thursday.

Pmail me for my phone number if you haven't already got it.

S'ok Mal; come & go as you wish.

Applies to everyone whether or not they're on the list - it's just a picture after all.
