If you have the Opel diesel fitted..... ....check your throttle linkage bolts!I know this isn't a question but I thought it would probably get more notice here. I'd noticed over the last few weeks that my van had been a bit sluggish.I'd had a look at the obvious things but put it down to the cold weather! This morning it seemed worse but was okay to drive but after a mile or so just died.I got to a side road on tick over & had a look to see what I could find. The linkage arm on the control lever of the distributor pump was loose & discovered a hole where presumably there should have been a bolt.I stuck a cable tie through it & managed to continue my journey until it happened again.I then found another hole. Another cable tie got me back home at about 15 mph. When I took the cab engine cover off I could see what had happened,it had actually contained two bolts & both had fallen out! A couple of M10 bolts later & everything was back to normal. So if you have this engine make sure you check regularly that they're tight. ---------------------- | Sat 02 Feb 2013 @ 22:58 |
