Poor running under load help I'm running out of ideas

Hi my 2.3 slant is running badly I have fitted new coil cap rotor arm leads and plugs, run a new power to the coil, stripped and cleaned the carb and today changed the cam belt checked the timing and I'm ready to give in.
She has bosh elec ignition and a weber carb uses no oil or water but as you try to pull off it dies,
When you do get going it seems ok but as soon as it comes to pulling hard it seems to drop down to two cylinders? It still revs free but just won't pull.
I use it for work and need it sorting ASAP but I'm getting no where fast.
Any ideas please?

poor running

Hi,Guypifreak is right. You must check both ends of the battery earth and the body to engine earth. While they are undone clean and grease with Vasolen as it's water resistant and will help electicalty. You could also check the float level in the carb.Cheers+Beers,Jim.

Hi thanks for the info its really appreciated.
I think I have cured it fingers crossed!
I checked the float it seemed low but I don't know to much about them just a little from two stroke bikes as a kid so I bent it a bit to increase the level but still the same,
So next I took the cam cover off and had a look at the clearances,
The inlets have loads but all the exhausts were tight so slackened them two turns and it seems to be back to full power!
Only problem now is the rocker gasket is compleatly missing? Just made from silicone so I bodged it for now and hopfully I can pick one up in London next week,
It's doing 600 miles a week for work and I never even thought about it not being ok to use unleaded so plenty of red x adertive from now on,
Thanks again
