hi everyone

Hi I'm looking into buying a cf soon so thought I would join the forum to find out more information. I have found a panel van for sale 1977 with 1.8 petrol engine, with minimal rot hoping someone can tell me what its worth? As I have no idea

Welcome to the forum. You've already made two excellent decisions.
Now then the 64,000 pound question!
An item's worth really boils down to what you're prepared to pay for it.Having said that a few pictures or a link to the item for sale would help us give an opinion.
A browse through the closed listings on greedbay could give you an idea of what others are selling for.

I don't have any pics unfortuately :s its pretty solid though with minimum welding required for mot, the engine has seized up but intended on a diesel replacement anyway so that won't be an issue really. Seen a few lightly modified cf and I think they look much better than any transit, which made me start looking for bedfords. The van hasn't been used in around 10 years and has been stored in a barn since then, so I'm guessing it will need a fair amount of mechanical work

Hi and welcome to the site. As Bluebeduin says it depends what you want to pay and what the seller is asking for it. The engine not working is a good bargaining tool for you though.
