We recently had great friendly service from Mark Auto Electrics, based in Chesham Bucks. He runs a mobile service and came to Aylesbury to help out with our 1982 CF. Not much actually needed doing (on that occasion at least!!), but he has been in the auto electrical business for years apparently and was very sympathetic and encouraging about our van which was great. He's in the Yellow Pages for the Bucks area, or I can pass on the number if anyone needs it.

Mechanic

Hi
Can anyone help, i need a mechanic, i'm in the Leicester area. had injector pump sorted, not getting fuel through, got new lift pump from roverland which needs fitting and the system bleeding, i have had the rac out three times with this fuel problem, as it stopped on the way to work. There's no good me having a go as i'm stumped if something doesn't work, i don't know where to go next.

Cheers
Derrick

If you are still looking for reliable garage services in the Bath/Bristol area, you could try Wessex MOT & Repair Centre at Unit 2c, Brook Lane Industrial Estate, Westbury. Give Rob or Gail a call on 01373 827400.

I have mentioned them on the forum previously, and I know a member from the Frome area has used them a few times.

Top Gear Aylesbury, Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury. Not a mechanic as such, I just needed some welding done on my stainless steel exhaust. Highly recomended.
They do custom built exhausts too.

Mechanic in the Kent/Thanet area

I can recommend Keith Holland Motors in the Whitehall Industrial estate in Ramsgate. (01843 590400). It's a commercial place, but does caravanettes as well. He keeps promising to open a body shop on his premises as well, which will be handy for our ageing beauty.

Always been great with us, and seems to get parts at reasonable prices as well. And don't be put off by the fact that he looks like an ageing 'Comic Book Guy' from the Simpsons.

WATFORD, Herts. Commercial Motors in Cardiff Road. 01923 242718.

Ask for Chris or Rob. Really friendly, interested in older vans, good work and sensible advice , not expensive - basically you cant go wrong there.

Tejano, before thinking about fitting valve seats it's worth checking everything else first, particularly the ignition system, & once the valve clearances are checked/adjusted, doing a cylinder compression test.
