OMG.....you too Phil

'This was going to be her first time...since her rebirth. All fired up with excitement, she touched the large wheel, feeling its cold rim.....wondering how light it will feel when in motion. The left foot gently pressing on the rubber and the left hand on the twisted knob and manoevered the shaft into place then she was off....Everything was sooooooooooo smooth until she approached the roundabout tried to change gear then with much cursing and gear crunching she came to a standstill with traffic held up behind '

Next installment will be 'She was hot.....very hot !.

The 'Love Child' has now come back to her adoptive home. No worse for wear from her recent 'manhandling' Has a few advisories to add from her recent violation

1. steering system has slight free play detected at steering wheel

2. nearside & offside front brake hoses have slight corrosion to ferrules

3. nearside & offside rear leaf springs have slight wear in a shackle pin and / or bush

4. temp fuel cap fitted

Clearing uo

After several weekends of spot weld cutting & grinding the donor is now reduced to chassis and remnants of the cab -

It looks a bit sad now but in the process with there being a lot of panels coming off intact a plan has evolved, to see whether it's feasible to have them copied & if so then at what cost. I'll post some details in General Chat.

If panel removal involves painstakingly drilling out the spot welds and grinding off running welds, to maintain shape integrity, then thats onehelluva dismantling job!

Hats off;]

Bloody hell Phil - you won't get much for it when you weigh it in for scrap...there's nothing left:o

Fair play mate, you've done a cracking job on pulling that apart...trained as a surgeon did you;D ?

If you cut the chassis rails into manageable chunks - say 24" long - I wouldnt mind exchanging some 'tea tokens' for them... Would make my job of replacing the front chassis rails on the Bedouin a little easier!! Was going to buy and shape some suitable steel, but 'ready shaped' would be a lot easier. Is it the same section?

I remember reading in 'The Bible' about the correct method of repairing chassis rails and angle of cuts......

This Panels Project is just what the Club needs to get interested in...well done mate...full support from me;]
