Linking to a particular post I have tried to create a link to a particular message on the forum.I can link to the parent thread but not the post. These are some attempts;http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/thread.php?id=6664&postid=10 http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/thread.php?id=6664&post=10 http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/thread.php?id=6664&postcount=10 http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/showpost.php?id=6664&postcount=10 Obviously there's no extant coding to do that, any possibility of creating some?It would come in very handy for referencing rather than saying "my post in this thread" then having to read 3 or 4 pages to find it.:o ---------------------- | Sun 18 Apr 2010 @ 17:14 |

I think that this will require a change to the site. You can specify that a link scrolls down to a named tag by using the # symbol. But the only named tag on the page is the forum jump select list at the bottom of the page. http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/thread.php?id=6664#id Maybe the tag could be changed to have a name attribute set for each post. eg name=post10 Then the link to go to post 10 would look like :- http://www.bedfordcf.co.uk/mboard/thread.php?id=6664#post10 Regards Nigel. | Mon 19 Apr 2010 @ 07:43 |

The easiest way would be to write a new script to just display a single thread. I could use a modified version of the [thread]ID No[/thread] BBCode, something along the lines of link. The question is, should replies be allowed? The reason I ask is if someone has only read the single post they will have missed replies that already answer the post that they are making. ---------------------- | Mon 19 Apr 2010 @ 10:54 |

That would have to be [thread]thread=xxx,post=yyy[/thread] ---------------------- | Mon 19 Apr 2010 @ 21:52 |

I think it would probably only be used,as in my case,to refer to a photo or diagram,so probably wouldn't need to reply. :D ---------------------- | Mon 19 Apr 2010 @ 22:00 |

Well, just done a small mode to display 'link' instead of 'id=8534&postid=5' but I'm still not happy with the input method. Oh well.... ---------------------- | Tue 20 Apr 2010 @ 09:54 |
